http://aselia.wikia.com/wiki/Mithos_Yggdrasill
Once Upon a Time there was a boy who dreamed of a world without discrimination.  He wanted people to accept one another without fear of being shunned and hated.

This was Mithos, a boy who stopped the great Kharlan war between Tethe'ella and Sylvarant. Born a half elf alongside his sister, Martel he and his sister were cast from their village for being what they were. Joined by another half elf named Yuan and a human named Kratos the four ventured to stop the war between the two countries. This was to ultimately save the world from dying from the overuse of magitechnology; which had killed the great Kharlan tree that supplied the life sustaining mana. Forming pacts with summon spirits along the way, Mithos made a pact with the king of all summon spirits, Origin. Mithos asked Origin to create a sword that pretty much had the power of reality. The only catch was was that he would have to restore the great Kharlan seed to the land and bring a steady and unlimited supply of mana to the world.

With the eternal sword he split the world in two so magitechnology would never be made and end eating up all the mana; because mana is basically the lifeblood of the TOS world. With each world competing for the tiny amount of mana that was there magitechnology would never be able to be created. With no magitechnology there would be no war.

Everything's good right? Not. Mithos cared about the world but there was someone he cared about more and that was his sister. When she was pretty much cut down by random human A, Mithos sort of lost it. Hating humanity for what they did to the one person he cared about most Mithos had a different plan in mind for the world. Managing to save his sister who's soul still lived on inside her exsphere he used the great seed's mana to keep her alive indefinitely. But by doing so broke his pact with Origin. This would've earned a revoking of the reality bending sword, but, Mithos sealed that king inside a rock thanks to Kratos.

With his sister now in a state of life and death and his burning hatred of every living thing what did Mithos decide to do? Pretty much manipulate the entire world in a grand Xanatos like gambit to bring his dead sister back to life. He also took Martel's last words the wrong way. When Martel said she wanted discrimination to end Mithos took that as making everyone the same.

Mithos then started a 4000 year plot on the world both trying to end discrimination and bring back his dead sister. Mithos created the organization of Cruxis filled with those he deemed worthy that would control the state of the world while appearing to be higher and holier beings known as angels. He changed history to make the world remember his sister as a goddess, made the church of Martel to earn money for his plans and to control both worlds on the up and up, and used the Desians as an excuse to continually make exspheres. Taking advantage of the world's constant hourglass flow of mana, Mithos through the church of Martel created the Journey of Regeneration. While the public saw it as a means of the Chosen going to seal away the Desians and restoring mana and life to the world, it's real purpose was to find the right host for Martel. An added effect was to also constantly switch the mana flow between the two worlds when the Chosen succeeded.

So for the next 4000+ years things went exactly how Mithos wanted them to. That is until Lloyd Irving said screw the Chosen system and decided to not let Colette sacrifice herself.

That's when Mithos's plans started coming part at the seams. Having come into contact with the main party several times in his Yggdrasill form (the leader of Cruxis) and trying to take back Colette to be his sister's new meat suit. In the end Mithos decided to play a very different game. He would take on his child form andinfiltrate the party as a friend. In his child form, he met the group after Ozette was blown up by Cruxis and introduced himself. The others would take him to Altessa where he'd stay for part of his time and then leave and go back to attend to things with Cruxis back on Derris Kharlan.

Mithos would assist the party several times during the story and hinder them as well. Either saving them from Rodyle's ranch or popping up as Yggdrasill in the Tower of Salvation to attack them.

Of course good plans only go so far until Yggdrasill drops the pan pipes he had given to Genis at one point in the game. Then the night of plot twists happen.

The party would return to Altessa to help Colette recover from a sickness caused by the Cruxis crystal where Genis questioned if Mithos and him were really friends. Mithos had answered hesitantly that they were but the night's events would prove otherwise. In the span of five minutes the player learns that Kratos is Lloyd's father and that the little boy Mithos that the party took a shine to was actually Yggdrasill. Mithos attacks and nearly kills Altessa and Tabatha before YOLOing back to Derris Kharlan.

Much laterafter Alttessa's wounds are treated, the party decides to storm Derris Kharlan and fight Mithos. They are however, betrayed by Zelos who gives up Colette to Pronyma to finally fulfill her role as Martel's meat suit. Lloyd and the party ascend towards the headquarters where Colette is being held captive. But, each room ends up making each party member a sacrifice for Lloyd to continue to get to Colette.

Mithos isn't shown until Lloyd barges into the room where Colette is being held and soon joined by the other party members who were saved from their traps. But, Mithos had already started the process of transferring Martel into Colette. When it was complete Mithos was overjoyed to finally have his sister come back to life...only to be told by her that everything he did for her sake was wrong. Mithos loses it and that's interrupted when Zelos comes barging in and essentially reverses the process of Colette's possession. Zelos reveals he only pretended to betray the group so that he could get his hands on some rock that could let the party use the Eternal sword and reunite the two worlds. Mithos at the time was more concerned with his sister leaving him but with her final words Martel wonders out loud what the world would've been like if elves had never come to the planet.

....

This was not a smart idea on Martel's part. Mithos mistook her last words meaning that she wanted him and herself to abandon the world, flee to Derris Kharlan and have their own world together. Of course, that would mean stealing away the great seed that housed Martel and allowing the world to die so he could be with his sister. The party has none of that and defeats him.  Mithos soon vanishes off to Derris Kharlan and ends up leaving his Cruxis Crystal behind.

But, surprise! He's not dead and gone since he managed to survive inside the Cruxis Crystal. After the party makes the pact with Origin, Mithos attempted to possess Lloyd's body. Whichever party member Lloyd was the closest too (for simplicity sake it's Colette) manages to take the crystal off of Lloyd in time and they become possessed instead. Mithos whisks them off to Derris Kharlan and destroys the tower of Salvation to keep anybody from following.

Mithos is next seen trying to retake Colette's body over but much to his annoyance she resists and he ends up becoming dormant inside the crystal again (but not before showing Lloyd a vision of his sister's death.) Mithos later tries to tempt each of the party mates with illusions of siding with him against Lloyd showing how his way was the only way the world could reach salvation. But, each party member rejects his illusions due to the intervention of Lloyd.

When the party reaches the great seed they find Mithos' adult self and plead to him to give them the great seed. However, Mithos remains unresponsive only repeating the phrase, "I'm going home." That's when Mithos' cruxis crystal unattaches it self from Colette and goes back to his body finally reuniting Mithos' soul and mind with his body. Mithos and the group banter about how discrimination is born and over if being the same race would truly end racism. They cannot see eye to eye and Mithos says his only option left to him is to take Derris Kharlan and the seed away and build his own world. They fight and Mithos ultimately loses with his body being destroyed.

Still living on inside the Cruxis Crystal Mithos ultimately gives up. Becoming tired of playing the game of good and evil he asks for them to kill him. His last words would be him saying how if he had the chance that he'd make the same choices all over again. And finally, Lloyd destroys his Cruxis Crystal and ends the boy's long life.

Reincarnated History:

Michael's life has been vastly more simple and easy than Mithos' ever was. To start, Michael grew up with only his mother and sister. The reason his father was never there was because Michael had been a product of a one night stand. His mother tried to find the father but was never able to get a hold of him.

So, Michael grew up only knowing that his father was somewhere out there but not actually knowing who he was. It didn't upset him all too much though. His mother loved him and so did his older half sister as well so it was enough for him not to worry too much over it. His mother had to work a lot  to take care of two kids and worked as a secretary for some lawyers. So his sister would usually end up taking care of him when their mother couldn't.

By the time he was eleven though his sister had moved out for school which meant he and his mother stayed at the little apartment they always had stayed in. His mother still ended up working late so Michael largely ended up taking care of himself. But coming back to an empty apartment everyday after school began to get pretty lonely. When his mother saw this he enrolled him in fencing for after school so when he got home she'd at least be there to greet him most of the time.

This helped ease him into the fact his sister wasn't living with them anymore and in turn helped him stop feeling pretty lonely. But, there was one thing Michael wanted to know. What his father's name was. Even if it didn't bother him that his father didn't live with them Michael still wanted to know who the man was. After a long time of begging his hesitant mother told Michael who his father was. Michael at the age of fourteen finally knew his father was a man named Karl Aurion. Finally knowing who his dad was Michael planned to go and find him. Going off the lead from his mom that Karl still probably lived in Locke city Michael tried to find him.

And then a giant snake attacked the city and things were never the same again.

First Echo: Tier Two Echo, his Cruxis Crystal with key crest. Michael was present during the Wise Snake battle having been out with his mother during the time. Michael had seen the snake during the mayhem while he and his mother ran away from the district. When they made it to the safety zone, Michael realized he had something in his pocket which was a green crystal in some kind of golden set.
Preincarnation Personality:

Mithos was once an idealist and a great hero of his world. He believed in a world free from hate of those caught in the middle and so no one would feel the same hurt that he did. He strove his hardest to save the world from itself regardless of how people treated him. He had so much faith in the world and that it could change for the better if he strove towards it.

But, this all changed when his sister had been killed. Mithos had dearly loved his sister but because of her death Mithos' idealism and heroic nature soon melted away and was replaced by nothing by hate. Mithos holds a lot of hatred for humanity as a whole. Because of a human killing his sister he let go of any hope of that people could change on their own. In his mind humans are beneath him and he is better than them. Ironically, he became the exact thing he hated. A huge old racist. But, to Mithos it's not the same because humans always hated people like him so it's okay if he subjects them to the same treatment. It shows how arrogant he is: believing that half elves/lifeless beings are the superior beings over all.

Mithos is obsessed. His obsession stems for the love of his sister and wanting to revive her. There is nothing he won't go to bring her back to life. Murder, manipulation, lies, he will do anything to bring back the one person he loves to life. He's willing to give up the entire world for her as he planned to just leave the world without any mana just to create a world for her and himself. Taking away the seed that could supply the world with infinite mana to keep her soul alive and sacrificing the chosen to give her a body. There's nothing he won't give up for her. Of course, this obsession blinds him to just about everything: even when his own sister is talking to him. The moment Martel told him he was wrong for what he did, Mithos lost his mind. He believed his sister would never say anything like that. He thinks he knows exactly what his sister wants and constructed the idea what she truly wanted if only out of his sadness. Anyone who goes against his idea of what his sister would want he ends up reacting violently.

Remnants of the old Mithos seem to remain though if not extremely subdued. He's willing to risk his life for certain people, either people he values as friends or those he loves. He threw himself in front of Pronyma's attack to make sure Genis wasn't injured and even protected Tabatha from getting crushed by rocks. Though this only really stems towards people of his own kind and/or people he got close to.

One thing about Mithos is his uncompromising nature. Even when faced with defeat and death and people constantly telling him to stop what he's doing, he just doesn't. Mithos believes himself to be correct in all the things he does and doesn't listen to any alternative that's given. There is no compromise, there are only absolutes when it comes to Mithos. He absolutely believes discrimination can never end unless people become the same race. He believes those who murdered must be murdered in return. Up until the very end he said he would chose the same path all over. It shows how hard he's unwilling to change his mind, rather dying than admit he was wrong.

Mithos still suffers from the treatment he received when he was still only a boy. He believed nobody would accept him and even when he tried to open himself to others they would reject him. This has left him yearning for acceptance. He wanted friends and people to care about him but could never really find that outside of Kratos, Yuan and Martel. When he first befriends Genis however it shows how much he wants to be accepted. He continually asks Genis who Genis would side in a fight and needs constant validation of any friendship he formed, at least this is only shown with Genis. Of course, when faced with rejection he flies out the window. The moment he believed his sister rejected him he lost his mind, insane laughter followed by trying to collapse the room.

Mithos tries to play the victim with any scenario given. He uses the fact of how he and the half elves were discriminated against and tries to use it as justification towards his actions. However, he blatantly ignores the fact that he turned millions on millions of innocent lives into victims justifying it as a necessary sacrifice. To him, he and the half-elves are the only victims in the world and everyone else is just merely there to make the half elves existence harder.

However, there is a brief moment between Mithos and Noishe where Mithos contemplates on if he was really doing the right thing. It shows that there's still a tiny part of the old Mithos in him that questions perhaps what he's trying to do is wrong. Of course, Mithos even says that if he really began to believe this he'd have no reason to live. His ideals and goals mean everything to him and if he fully believed he was wrong he'd give up on living.

Any differences:
One big difference is the fact that Michael has lived an entirely different life from Mithos. He never dealt with the hardships of race or discrimination like Mithos did so he doesn't know that pain. Because he doesn't know that pain, Michael has never felt like he wasn't accepted. For a normal child there's that want to be liked by his peers and he does have that. He wants friends, but, Michael hasn't felt that crushing loneliness that Mithos had experienced. Like any kid he's susceptible to being lonely but doesn't shy away from making friends like Mithos because Michael doesn't fear rejection by simply being alive.

Since he hasn't lived 4000+ years the crazy also has not beset upon Michael. Michael hasn't stewed in a hatred of humanity or a depression of a lost sister that drove Mithos to do such awful things. Where Mithos lost all his innocence of the world and his positive out look, Michael still holds onto his innocence. While he's not about to start a crusade to save the world like Mithos did he still has a sense of right and wrong that isn't as warped as Mithos' was. To say the least he's like Mithos was before his sister death, innocent and idealistic of the world.  Of course, he's more innocent than Mithos was having not encountered any hardships or hatred Mithos ever did. This makes Michael more naive about the world overall, not knowing how cruel people can be.

Michael is not cynical to the point where he doesn't believe people can't change in time. Mithos was adamant on the fact people couldn't be changed unless he forced the changed. Michael believes on a whole people do change overtime. He's seen kids in his school go from bullies to okay people. He remains hopeful of people's good nature like most kids his age.

Michael is not as dependent on his sister as Mithos once was. While Mithos obsessed over the revival of his sister and would be willing to do anything to revive her, Michael would not go to those lengths. He loves his sister,  but she wasn't the only sole provider/friend/family member in his life. Michael wouldn't kill thousands of people just for the sake of his sister. He has the capacity to love like Mithos had, very protective and supportive of the ones he loves, but nowhere near the obsessive lengths Mithos went to for that love. Overall, Michael is just a normal boy with normal interests. A perfectly happy and mentally healthy boy who's biggest concern is making sure he gets his homework done on time.

Abilities:
With a Cruxis Crystal, Mithos had increased hearing/sight, super strength, and more durable than the average person. Literally the kid can be crushed by rocks and he comes out barely injured.  With his state as a lifeless being, Mithos can control his appearance and growth, being able to look like an adult or revert to his fourteen year old self. With the Crystal, Mithos literally cannot die due to age. He also has access to angelic magic (such as Judgment, retribution, ect) and has an awesome pair of magical rainbow/purple (depending on his current form) angel wings that can let him fly about.

Mithos' soul and consciousness have also merged completely with his cruxis crystal so if his body was destroyed or the crystal was separated from his body, his soul would live on inside the crystal. However, Mithos can take control over others bodies if he's lacking his inside of the crystal, so long as he can attach himself to them. It also means he has a bit of control inside of the crystal being able to float around to attach to people. Of course it's a very short range that he can move as a crystal and people can always interrupt him from possessing another person.  With the crystal Mithos is essentially semi immortal having managed to live four thousand years because of the combat ability unlocked ith it.

While having elven blood, Mithos can use magic and has a large variety of powerful spells at his disposal. Most of his magic requires him to cast it though and he can be interrupted. However, he can either use his magic at a long range or in melee combat. Examples (Long range, being a spell like thunder blade that drops a sword of lightning from the sky to melee with being just twirling around and hitting people with light.)

Being trained by Kratos, Mithos is a skilled swordsman having learned back during the Kharlan war and with four thousand years behind his belt he's a master in his own right.

Roleplay Sample - Third Person:
The yells of school children could be heard as the bell rang for the dismissal of the day. A group of boys came walking out of the school, laughing and talking about what they were going to do now that the rest of the day was their's. Michael, being among these boys laughed along as well, keeping pace with them. But, glancing down at his watch, Michael gasped at the realization of how late he was going to be for his fencing lesson. "I gotta go guys! I'll see you later!" And with that he ran off from his friends.

As much as he wanted to go off with his friends, his mother had spent a lot of money on his fencing so he had to be sure to get to every lesson. Besides, he always enjoyed the lessons so that was another reason to move faster. As he was speeding along though, Michael slowed down immediately when he saw an older woman sitting against a building selling bird seed.

He looked her over for a moment, coming to the conclusion that this woman was one of the many homeless in Locke. Sympathy filled his eyes as he looked to her. His mother always told him never to give money to the homeless because they would spend it on drugs or something. But, how were people like this supposed to help themselves if no one helped them? Almost instinctively  he turned his head assuming his mother would somehow pop up behind him when he made the decision she wouldn't like.

Digging his hands into his pocket he dropped whatever change he had into the hat and was on his way once more. His positive mood returning just as quickly. He hoped his kindness was not misplaced but brushed it off just as quickly as the thought came. Michael was positive that his act of kindness would help that woman. But, now he was doubling his speed because he had just realized he was going to be late for his lesson.

Roleplay Sample - Network:
[A young boy adjusts the camera in front of him as he squints into it.]

Is this on? [Check, check, check...] Oh! It looks like it is. Um, hello! I know you all probably don't know me very well, but, I've been watching you all for a few days when I go this number.

[Wait that sounds creepy.]

Ah! But, not in a weird stalkery way! I just wanted to figure out what this was and well, I realized you were the people that saved everyone when that huge snake attacked. I just wanted to say thank you for saving us.

[He's unsure if he should stop there but he decides to against it.]

People are saying you guys may be the bad guys but I don't think so. I'm sure if we all work together, normal people and \superheroes we can show everyone you guys aren't bad.

Um, that's all!

Any Questions? No questions but Olga said it was cool that these two are related.
